Anxiety effects the body, mind and emotions. Anxiety is a mind body state that causes changes both psychologically and physiologically.

With anxiety, we see changes in thoughts, emotions, the physical body and behavior.??Taken all together, anxiety feels unpleasant.

Other Names for Anxiety

We call the feeling of anxiety by many names, including stress, apprehension, uptight, dread, worry, uneasiness and fear.

Because anxiety has such a broad reach, its called a generalized mood disorder.??It may seem strange, but the person experiencing anxiety may not know the anxiety cause.  The trigger of anxiety can be illusive.

Anxiety Vs Fear

Fear and anxiety are different because when we are experiencing fear, we know what we’re afraid of.

When we feel anxiety, we may feel dread of an unknown threat, or that the treat is unavoidable.??Fear, on the other hand, is obvious.  And when fear is felt, we react by either fighting, fleeing or freezing.  ??Fear also distinguishes itself from anxiety by being about something in the present.

The cause of the anxiety  is felt about things that we imagine in the future.??There are so many triggers for anxiety in today’s world!

Anxiety is Normal

Even though anxiety is considered to be a reaction to stress that is normal, we are still negatively impacted by the things it does to our mind and body.??Panic attacks are sudden, extreme anxiety.

Some of the physiological effects of anxiety include headaches, digestive disturbance, shortness of breath, exhaustion, irregular heartbeat, tight muscles.

The physical reactions prepares you to escape or defend yourself.??In order to do that, your heart beats faster, you sweat, and your blood supply is switched away from digestion and the immune system and toward the large muscles??In addition to the physiological effects of anxiety, anxiety affects your mind.

Anxious Thoughts and Emotions

Changes in thoughts and emotions include imaging bad outcomes, dreading the future, feeling irritable, feeling jumpy, expecting danger, trouble with concentration.  It can feel like everyone and everything is dangerous or a threat.

Thinking the same thing over and over is common.  With anxiety, you can even be afraid of dying.  When people have anxiety, people may imagine that the symptoms they are feeling are signs of serious disease.

I’ve lived with chronic anxiety for most of my life.

A Life of Anxiety

Just months ago, I discovered an anxiety cure that really works.  I named this method SALT.

Use SALT to Cure Anxiety

The letters in SALT stand for Stop for a second, Ask inside what thoughts and feelings you’re having, Listen to the answer and Tap on the thoughts and fears.

When I say Tap, I mean EFT tapping, or EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques.  The EFT technique enables you to change your emotional and mental state.  You can change your thoughts from anxious and obsessive to relaxed and confident.
