When a business goes international, there’s a risk of being not properly understood in alternative languages, or, even worse, misunderstood. That is why, when you are going to expand your business, your success can rely on the one who interprets your web site, documentation, ads and therefore on.

Do not implement translating your text word-by-word or sentence-by-sentence. Contrary to the favored belief, the translation will not be a lot of correct this way. Simply the opposite is true: a translator who translates word-by-word could be a BAD translator, or a mediocre one — at the most.

A MEDIOCRE translator will diligently substitute words, word-combos and idioms of one language for those of another language. He searches piles of dictionaries for various lexical units. He can be really proud of the result. Do not blame him — he in all probability is conscientious and onerous-working. The only downside is that his translation won’t work.

A GOOD translator will look after the MESSAGE of your text. He realizes that sensible translation is not just finding right words. He will attempt to search out right linguistic means that to convey your message; what is more, he will leave your style intact. He will be pleased with the result, too — and he has the reason to suppose so. Your message can be conveyed — in each respect. Can it work? That is another question.

The distinction between a GOOD and an EXCELLENT translator is the following: an EXCELLENT translator can care for the GOAL of your message. Before he stats the work, an excellent translator asks himself straightforward questions: does your message work into this explicit culture? Will the audience accept it? If the solution is “no”, he can always warn you about it.

Can you appreciate his advice? You’d higher do. It might be not too pleasant for you to be told that your text isn’t excellent (especially if you thought it absolutely was). Of course, you can put this good Aleck down. You’re the Consumer, therefore you are invariably right. He will translate the text he is given the method you want. Thence, you’ll get what you ordered — a MEDIOCRE translation.

That’s why it is reasonable to concentrate to an knowledgeable (an wonderful translator can invariably serve you as an skilled on the culture of your audience — whether or not you haven’t asked for it and are not going to pay extras for such a consultation.) Typically these recommendation would possibly appear a touch odd to you; that’s because such a translator  is in a position to suppose sort of a one who will be visiting your website.

Be ready to throw some expressions, phrases, or whole paragraphs away or re-write them – operating perfectly in one language, they won’t do in another. Be prepared to alter photos and illustrations, typically redo the graphics and alter the entire style of your website if necessary.

Cooperate with your translator — it pays. Do this work currently and you will be rewarded with success of your business in an exceedingly foreign country.

I didn’t believe it the first time I heard a friend of mine say -

“I benefit from the reading of 50 books each year… in my spare time”.

Knowing how demanding her time was because of her top position in her job and because she is a single mom, I was certain she was lying and I told her so.

Smiling, she insisted that it was the truth. I would have gladly continued our argument, but then she told me that she didn’t actually ‘read’ them at all, but someone read them to her and she just sat back and listened… in her spare time.

Not giving me any opportunity to argue, she went ahead and played an audio book on her CD player for my perusal.

She explained that this was how she had almost any book she wanted read to her as audiobooks while she prepared for work in the morning, while she prepared her daughter for school, while she did her exercises each day, while she commuted to and from work and any free time she had on hands that didn’t involve using her mind.

I was surprised, to say the least, that I could have been doing the same thing in my spare time, instead of just commuting to and from work doing nothing.

You see, my work is one that requires a lot of my time involvement. I’ve set off to the office at around 6.30am and then spend nearly two hours commuting. Then, when I get to work, I don’t get a spare minute until I leave for the night.

From what this friend of mine explained to me, I knew I had to give audio books a try.

I did and was very impressed.

Now, I can proudly say I also benefit from the ‘reading’ of up to 50 books each year.

Still don’t think it’s possible?

Fine, let’s do the math:

For an audio book that takes 4 hours, you can have it read to you in just two days – 1 hour each day while preparing for work in the morning and 1 hour each day while commuting to and from work. That’s four hours over 2 days.

So, if it takes you 2 days to have one audio book read to you, that will be 365 days in a year divided by 2. Amazingly, that is over one hundred and thirty books every single year!

That’s over double the original 50 audio books we were targeting, right?

Audiobooks are indeed the secret formula that many people use to get the value from the best books they want to read. Audio books, take away the drudgery of reading and make acquiring new knowledge and skills so much more enjoyable.

For the bookworms back in college that want to continue reading but can’t afford the time anymore, you now have a solution in audio books.

Whether you want to use your PC to download audio books, cassette tape player, CD or even any PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), it is now possible and within your reach for peanuts.

One excellent source that I have found for MP3 audio books is Spoken Network. You can find them at:
