Divine Body Cleansing?

You’ve heard that “cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Where did that saying come from? Did anyone ever tell you that it had to do with the state of the kitchen or the mess you left in the living room? In all seriousness, have you ever considered the possibility that it might have something to do with the state of your body?

You may have heard that fasting is a way to cleanse your body. I’m sure you’ve also heard that Jesus, Buddha, and many other spiritual greats undertook prolonged fasts before they began their teachings.

But did you ever put these two things together? Did you ever think that these great spiritual men were cleansing their bodies internally – to obtain or enhance their spiritual connection? If that’s true, does it mean that toxicity in our bodies somehow hinders our direct spiritual connection? Actually, I believe it does.

Have you realized that Adam and Eve’s fall from grace was directly related to the foods they were eating? They were clearly not supposed to eat that apple. But they did. Then, according to this story, putting the wrong foods in their bodies was the actual cause of their fall from grace. If there is truth in this Bibical story, what do you think the consequences are of regularly putting pesticides, food colorings, preservatives, genetically modified foods, and anti-freeze in our bodies? Believe or not, the primary ingredient in anti-freeze is common in both personal care products and in many “snack” foods.

If two thousand years ago, Jesus felt the need to deeply cleanse his body by doing a documented forty day fast, what does that say about the average person’s toxicity level today? Two thousand years ago, pesticides and herbicides didn’t exist in our foods, soil, or water. Two thousand years ago, genetically modified ingredients weren’t in most of the processed foods available. Come to think of it, two thousand years ago, there were likely few processed foods available and certainly nothing like the highly chemical ones that line the grocery store shelves today. Yet, even in far less toxic times, Jesus felt the need to do a prolonged and deep cleanse.

Cleansing is a way to remove all of that toxicity from our bodies.  Fasting is one way to do it. A cleansing diet, if you’re not up for fasting, can also help a great deal. Colon cleansing and liver cleansing are important ways to physically remove a great deal of the waste stored in our bodies. When you see how much stored waste comes out of you, you might be shocked. Actually, cleansing might be something that you need to do for yourself to really comprehend exactly how much toxicity the average person has stored these days. But when you see it for yourself, you’ll begin to understand how much toxicity people truly carry in their bodies these days. It then becomes hard to deny.
