Lying inactive inside you is a creative genius waiting patiently to escape, to surface, to manifest itself and to realise its potential. Every human has equal access to becoming great. Creativity is among your sacred birthrights. Why then, do some people become stars, artists, or famous authors, while others fail to totally use their potential? It’s a good question and there are many answers.

The primary reason is that many folks are born with creative blocks, feed ourselves negative messages, and receive and accept negative messages from others. A creative block can be anything that stops you from achieving your potential. It can be physical, emotional, or perhaps religious in nature. A creative block can stop you from finalizing a project and it can stop you from marketing the work that you complete.

The commonest creative blocks are:

The Negative Attitude of Others. This block happens if you repetitively receive negative messages like, “You can’t,” “You’re not good enough,” or “It will be too difficult,” to such an extent that you begin to accept the negative statements as if they are right.

Your Own Negativeness. This block happens when you are saying to yourself, “You are not creative,” “You are not good enough,” or “Everything will be too difficult,” so often that you think it.

Fear of Failure (or Success). Some of us really know that we possess overwhelming potential but fear failure and/or success so much that we unknowingly block our own potential. The concept of change could be too frightening.

Do you worry that if you are successful that it will cause your workmates to feel depressed or inferior? Are you afraid that your family will feel left behind? This Sense of Unworthiness (Real or Imaginary) stops many from satisfying their dreams.

Metaphorically speaking, overblown fears are like red lights along the road to success. It is important that you identify any fears and release them so that your stop lights do not turn into roadblocks. As you overcome blocks your confidence will rise. Once you feel your confidence rise, hold onto that enabling feeling. Building your confidence can be done in many ways. Some use self-hypnosis (or a hypnosis mp3) or meditation. What methodology you use you will find that confidence works like Kryptonite in beating and stopping creative blocks.
