Are your suffering from low self esteem and really want to search for some ways to change the situation, feel good about yourself, and achieve success in your life? If so, I hope you find the self esteem activities described in this article helpful for building your self confidence and being your best self!
First of all, what’s self esteem. Self esteem is simply your perception about yourself. Your self esteem is developed, from birth and continue to the present, through thoughts and feelings about yourself as well as by the perceptions you get from other people. When how you perceive yourself is inconsistent with who you really want to be, your self esteem will be brought down.
Many self esteem exercises can help boost your self esteem. But what makes the activities effective is the deeper-level approach that gets to the core of the problem. So first you should understand that is built upon a set frame of mind that prevents you from knowing and loving yourself. Not knowing who you really are might be the main cause of low self esteem. Just think back how often you allow other people’s opinion to validate who you are.
So in order to build a positive self esteem, you need to change the frame of mind that causes low self esteem. Here are some simple self esteem activities you can do:
Self Esteem Activity 1: Be Conscious Of Your Thoughts
One of the most powerful ways to change the old and negative frame of mind that causes low self esteem is through the development of consciousness. The reason is consciousness is a state of mind where we are in touch with our true Self. When we are in touch with our inner Self, we realize our true purpose in life.
Being conscious is important also because at the consciousness state, the “inner dialogue” that causes low self esteem will clear. Reflect on how constantly your “self talk” is running your mind without you realizing it. The reason is that, most of the activities going on in our mind are at play unconsciously every second of the day. And usually these self talks are negative. If we are able to consciously observe our inner dialogue, we can as well consciously STOP the dialogue and replace it with a positive thought.
To accomplish consciousness, set aside at least ten minutes a day. Make yourself relaxed by taking deep breaths, watch your mind closely. Allow your thoughts flow naturally. Watch them as they flow. Don’t make any comments about them. Stick to this exercise everyday and you will gradually develop great consciousness which will make your old mindset shatter.
Self Esteem Exercise 2: Affirmations
Another effective exercise is positive affirmations. The function of positive affirmations is to reach the subconscious mind and replace negative thoughts with healthy ones. Examples of positive self esteem are:
“I am a worthy person!”
“I am successful!”
“I achieve whatever goals I set for myself!”
For faster and more effective results, practice positive affirmations in front of a mirror. Look you in the eye, say it to yourself at least 5 times in the morning, and 5 times at night. You can continue saying the positive affirmations to yourself until you feel something positive about yourself. Then put it into practice every day on a regular basis for a minimum of 30 days. In a short time, you’ll see that you have changed your perception about yourself because your usual frame of mind shatters.
Do these self esteem activities, they will help you love yourself as who you really are, and express your full potentials!
